Lacking approx. 50% spine panel cloth and cloth along joints but with underboard and mesh underlay fully intact binding still very firm -- easily rebacked if desired. Rubbed with exposure along top and bottom edges and at corners which are somewhat layered. Typical surface rubbing and soiling. Mild foxing to several early and late leaves with occasional light foxing through interior. Stamp of Somalia Mennonite Mission on half-title and on blank verso of frontis. which also shows two former owner signatures occasional neat underlining through p. 15 otherwise unmarked. Text block toned by age but othewise intact. Both maps at rear have been neatly mended on verso with archival tape along several separated folds and tears with a few short archival tape repairs on front of one map; maps are complete and intact. L'ouvrage débute par le voyage de Swinburne, se poursuit par un traité sur le royaume des Deux-Siciles, par les notes du traducteur, par un "Extrait d'un ouvrage de M. de Cabanis intitulé Recherches sur la Grande Grèce et enfin par la relation du voyage du traducteur dans les mêmes Deux-Siciles.
