‎Peet, T. (Thomas) Eric, C. (Charles) Leonard Woolley. With Chapters by Battiscombe Gunn and P. L. O. Guy and Drawings and Plans by F. G. Newton.‎

‎The City of Akhenaten. Part I: Excavations of 1921 and 1922 at el-'Amarneh. (The Egypt Exploration Society 38th Memoir).‎

‎Quarto. Pp. vii, 176. Plus 64 plates, some of which are folding, some coloured, bound at end. With 30 text figures. Hardcover, bound in the original publisher's quarter cloth and printed boards, spine lettered in red. Endpapers and boards age toned, bit rubbed. An excellent copy. ~ First edition. Rare scholar's copy from the library of renowned Egyptologist Prof. Dr. Heerma van Voss with his charming bookplate inside cover. Occasionally with his neat pencil annotations. One page is heavily annotated in pencil in the margins and includes many cross-references to other sources, a useful concordance. All the photographic plates are printed in collotype, one of the most accurate and attractive methods of photomechanical tonal printing processes. Highly skilled and expensive process, it cannot produce more than a limited number of impressions. It has been used for single-sheet prints and luxury portfolios, and since the 1950s has been abandoned by all except a few small specialist firms. Few of these plates are printed in coloured collotype, an exceptionally complicated process which consequently is seldom used in book production. Beinlich-Seeber 5570.‎

‎Übersetzung und Kommentar zu den altägyptischen Pyramidentexten. Band I-V, Spruch 213-582. [FIVE VOLUMES].‎

‎Five volumes. Quarto. Pp. viii, 409; 420; 443; 376; 517. The first four volumes are in the original publisher's installments, 16 in total, bound in stiff wrappers which are bit frayed in places. The four volumes were printed by the inventor of this method, the printers' firm Max Ullman of Zwicaku. In 1962 appeared by Augustin Volume V, Spruch 507-582, which is presented here also in the first edition, to be distinguished from the second edition of the entire work which also appeared that year. In that year appeared also the index volume which is not included here. Provenance: From the library of renowned Egyptologist Prof. Dr. Heerma van Voss (1923-2015) with his charming bookplate inside each cover and occasionally with his neat pencil annotations. ‎Maspero, Jean. (Étienne Drioton).‎

‎Fouilles exécutées à Baouît. Notes mises en ordre et éditées par Étienne Drioton. (Mémoires de l'Institut français d'Archéologie orientale du Caire, 54).‎

‎Two volumes. Folio. Pp. xvi, 181; 185-190. Plus 60 plates, some in colour, mostly with multiple images to each. Includes frontispiece, loosely inserted as issued. With over 50 text figures. Original thin wrappers (first volume erratically stating "1932"), frayed, chipped, partly detached. Crisp interiors in fine condition and as such an excellent set, preserved entirely in the original state. ~ First edition. Mémoires de l'Institut Francais d'Archéologie Orientale du Caire, 54. Jean Gaston Maspero (1885-1915). Published posthumously, it was, and in essence still considered as a memorial of one of the most brilliant and most promising of the younger Egyptologists of the time, who fell in action in 1915. It embodies the publication of the results of Maspero's last season of excavation, in Bawit. "This book is an eloquent tribute to the beautifully-kept and detailed note books of Maspero as well as to the skill and patience of Drioton." (H. W. Fairman, Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland, 1934). Étienne Marie-Félix Drioton (1889-1961). Curiously, not in Beinlich-Seeber.‎
