Conte Carlo Petitti di Roreto modesto omaggio dell'autore. Torino, 10 gennaio 1919 G. Gorrini". Tabelle statistiche n.t. Tra le pp. 272-273, una tav. in b.n. relativa alla ditta di cappelli Borsalino e al suo fatturato nell'anno 1913, per complessivi due milioni di cappelli venduti nel mondo. In barbe ed intonso, in ottimo stato salvo minime ingialliture dovute al tipo di carta. Il volume, uscito originariamente nel pieno della Prima Guerra Mondiale, reca numerose cancellature della censura da p. 280 a p. 325, relative a brani contenenti dati su stabilimenti industriali utili alla guerra. L’editore ne promette una riedizione non censurata alla fine delle ostilità ("Cette oeuvre, qui a vu le jour en pleine guerre modiale, a été censurée dans quelques partie ayant trait aux établissements industriels auxiliaires. Les coupures qui y ont été faites... demeureront comme un souvenir de l'époque tragique que nous traversons; elles ajouteront même à l'importance du livre et lui donneront un intérêt tout particulier. L'ouvrage paraîtra dans son texte intégral dès que les hostilités auront cessé"). Seconda edizione di questo importante studio sulla Russia moderna e i rapporti diplomatici italo-russi; questa seconda edizione (la prefazione reca la data del 15 novembre1917, a Rivoluzione d'Ottobre avvenuta) ribadisce la speranza in un futuro accordo italo-russo. Capitoli sulla topografia, il clima, la demografia, le religioni, l'amministrazione statale, la vita sociale, l'economia, l'industria e l'agricoltura, la caccia, la pesca e la zootecnia, i prodotti minerari, le vie di comunicazione terrestri e marittime, la partecipazione russa alla Prima Guerra Mondiale. La seconda parte, sulle relazioni italo-russe, contiene un capitolo sulla Russia all'Esposizione di Torino del 1911. Il Gorrini fu giurista e console italiano a Trebisonda (proprio nell'esercizio del suo ruolo diplomatico egli assistette al genocidio degli armeni in Turchia, da lui denunciato in alcune corrispondenze) e studioso di questioni geopolitiche, segnatamente in relazione alla slavistica.
