Paris Jules Renouard 1847 1 vol. relié in-8, demi-basane brune, dos lisse orné de filets dorés horizontaux, pièce de titre basane rouge, XVI + 314 pp., portrait-frontispice. Édition originale de cette étude sur Copernic qui aborde la portée des travaux de l'astronome polonais d'un point de vue social et philosophique. Jean Czynski (1801-1867), intellectuel varsovien exilé à Paris après l’échec de la révolution polonaise de 1830, était un avocat et auteur prolifique, inlassable défenseur des Juifs et des théories fouriéristes. Bon exemplaire en reliure d'époque auquel on joint une lettre autographe signée de l'auteur adressée à Charles Journet, le fils de Jean Journet qui s'était autoproclamé "L’Apôtre" (de Charles Fourier) et qui venait de décéder (1 page et demie in-8, Paris, [novembre 1861]). Jean Czynski s'y emploie à démentir des propos diffamatoires colportés par le photographe Nadar, selon lequel il aurait reçu de l'argent de la part de Jean Journet. Document rare, emblématique du petit monde des communautés du socialisme utopique sous le Second Empire.
