In an effort to fill this gap, this volume is the first devoted entirely to the production, reception, and transmission of knowledge in the Arts Faculty of the medieval University of Prague, covering topics in astronomy, linguistics, logic, metaphysics, meteorology, and optics. It also links Prague's Faculty of Arts to several others at universities across Europe and it examines the study of the arts in Bohemia outside the university, including the Jewish milieu. ‎Sehr gute Exemplare / 2 BÄNDE. - Otto I. der Große (* 23. November 912; ? 7. Mai 973 in Memleben) aus dem Geschlecht der Liudolfinger war ab 936 Herzog von Sachsen und König des Ostfrankenreiches (regnum francorum orientalium), ab 951 König von Italien und ab 962 römisch-deutscher Kaiser. Otto setzte während der ersten Hälfte seiner langen Herrschaftszeit die Unteilbarkeit des Königtums und seine Entscheidungsgewalt bei der Ämtervergabe durch. Damit griff er tief in das bestehende Herrschaftsgefüge des Adels ein. Die schwersten Aufstandsbewegungen gingen von den Mitgliedern der Königsfamilie selbst aus. Ottos Bruder Heinrich und sein Sohn Liudolf erhoben Anspruch auf Teilhabe an der Königsherrschaft. Aus den Aufständen ging jeweils Otto als Sieger hervor. Durch seinen Sieg 955 in der Schlacht auf dem Lechfeld über die Ungarn endeten nicht nur deren Invasionen, sondern auch die Erhebungen der Großen des Reiches gegen den König. Zudem erlangte er damit den Nimbus eines Retters der Christenheit, zumal ihm noch im selben Jahr ein Sieg über die Slawen gelang. In der Folge setzte eine kulturelle Blütezeit ein, die als Ottonische Renaissance bekannt wurde. 961 eroberte er das Königreich Italien und dehnte sein Reich nach Norden, Osten und bis nach Süditalien aus, wo er in Konflikt mit Byzanz geriet. Dennoch ließ er sich unter Rückgriff auf die Kaiseridee Karls des Großen 962 von Papst Johannes XII. in Rom zum Kaiser krönen, und schließlich gelang ihm sogar ein Ausgleich mit dem byzantinischen Kaiser und die Verehelichung seines Sohnes Otto II. mit dessen Nichte Theophanu. ... Im Jahr 968 gründete er ein Erzbistum in Magdeburg, jener Stadt, die wie keine zweite mit seinem Nachleben verbunden ist. Das Erzbistum war für Otto die entscheidende Voraussetzung für die Christianisierung der Slawen. ... (wiki) // ... ‎Seconde partie seule (français-espagnol) datée 1624 du Tesoro de las dos lenguas Española y Francesa, quatrième édition et première bruxelloise établie sur l’édition parisienne de 1616 du dictionnaire bilingue de César Oudin publié une première fois en 1607.« À la fin du XVIe siècle, César Oudin (1560-1625, interprète pour Henri IV et l'un des premiers traducteurs de Don Quichotte en français) commença à publier en France des ouvrages destinés à l’enseignement de l’espagnol. Le premier d’entre eux fut, en 1597, une Grammaire et observation de la langue espagnolle qui connut vingt éditions successives, la dernière datant de 1686. (…) Dès 1605, un ensemble de proverbes espagnols réunis par notre auteur et accompagnés d’une traduction en français due à sa plume parut sous le titre Refranes o proverbios castellanos traduzidos en lengua francesa. Proverbes espagnols traduits en françois. Le succès fut encore au rendez-vous puisque l’ouvrage donna lieu à onze éditions parues entre 1605 et 1702. En 1607, César Oudin publia la première édition du Tesoro. Tous les spécialistes s’accordent à dire que ce dictionnaire, véritable best seller durant près de soixante-dix ans, constitue le chef-d’œuvre de la lexicographie franco-espagnole au XVIIe siècle. (…) Le Tesoro... fut sans cesse mis à jour et augmenté, par l’auteur d’abord et, après sa mort, par son propre fils, Antoine, puis par divers imprimeurs-libraires parisiens, bruxellois et lyonnais : ce dictionnaire connut en tout huit éditions, réalisées entre 1607 et 1675 à Paris, Bruxelles et Lyon » (Marc Zuili).
