Arndt gehört mit seiner polemischen, antinapoleonischen Publizistik zu den Mitbegründern der jüngeren, nationalistischen Strömung der deutschen Romantik. Die Bände 2-4 erschienen anonym. Die Rücken sind oben und unten jeweils etwas abgegriffen und berieben, die Deckel von Teil 2 leicht beschabt und die Ecken bestossen. Die Seiten der Bände 2 und 3 haben einen schwachen, alten Wasserrand und wenige Absätze tragen leichte Randanstreichungen mit Bleistift. Trotz dieser etwas stärkeren Gebrauchsspuren handelt es sich um ein insgesamt ordentliches, vollständiges Exemplar. Teil 2 liegt in 2., veränderter Auflage von 1813 vor, die übrigen Bände sind Erste Ausgaben.
