Hardback bound in original quarter brown leather with brown marbled paper-covered boards. Red leather label on the spine as well as a gilt-stamped emblem of a "V" with scroll work and a banner beneath a crown. The binding shows moderate rubbing and wear and is sound. Hinges quite sturdy and supple. Marbled endpapers and all edges marbled. Prior owner's bookplate on the front pastedown of "Lewis St. Louis." Text is clean. After the main part of the text first 200 pages there are over 100 pages of printed facsimile of handwritten pages original to the publication which appear to show a register of items values etc. Pages 277-319 have been printed as 3/4 pages so that the text at the top of page 321 serves as headers for the columns throughout the section. <br/> <br/> Imprimerie d'e DuVerger hardcover

Volume 10 only July 1901- December 1901. The binding measures 14 1/2 inches tall by almost 10 1/2 inches wide. Hardcover bound in full green cloth with cover titles in gilt and with beveled edges. Moderate wear to the binding. Binding has some scuff marks on the back cover but is overall attractive. Outside edges of the text block are foxed. A sound copy with clean text. Illustrated throughout with photos of gardens English manor houses dogs hunting Lords and Ladies etc. Three page Index at the front. Inscribed on the title page by the original owner "Dr. G. C. Lippincott U.S.N. / Salem N. Jersey." George C. Lippincott 1850-1951 was a doctor in the U.S. Navy in the 1870s-1880s before he opened his office in Salem. The binding is rubbed and bumped but sound. There is a bit of a stain at the lower left corner of the front cover. Endpapers foxed. The text is a bit toned and has some foxing on the pages near the plates. Complete with the foldout genealogical chart at the rear of the book. There is a bookplate on the front paste down of "Cecil John Haarlem Mead." The bookplate shows a shield topped with a closed helmet and a left-facing griffin . The shield has two anvils at the top and a ship on the main portion. Beneath the shield is a banner with the motto "Lel Yn Kever Kernow" which is Cornish for "Faithful for Cornwall." The genealogical chart at the rear shows that Cecil John Haarlem Mead was born in 1899 and married Theodsia Avies Shore in 1935. He was a Lt. Colonel.
