McCaskey and Mayor of Codo on mule; handcars transporting passengers and baggage to Coroata; Sao Luiz harbor Britto Passos engineer for the state of Maranhaos; Caxios cotton workers leaving mill; Hotel Cunha in Caxios; planting of babassu tree; Grajahu River; bridge at Anil; and more. <br/><br/>Charles Stone 1867- and Edwin Webster 1867-1950 started their careers together as engineering consultants in Massachusetts and soon became major players in the nation's booming electric and transportation utilities. By the early 1900s their company Stone & Webster was designing and constructing power plants in six states and operating lighting and streetcar systems. By 1910 fourteen percent of the nation's electrical generating capacity had been designed engineered and built by Stone & Webster.
