In-8 de 17 x 24,5 cm pour 48 pp. Reliure moderne plein tissu, charnières à rabats, nom d'auteur, titre et date écrits de bas en haut en doré sur le dos. Étiquette qui semble d'école en revers de la page de faux-titre, marque d'appartenance à la plume à la page de titre. Page de titre légèrement abîmée, sans perte. Nombreux portraits de grandes figures brésiliennes en noir et blanc en hors-texte : Getúlio Vargas, alors président, l'empereur Dom Pedro II, le marquis d'Olinda régent du Brésil lors de la minorité de l'empereur, etc. L’Institut historique et géographique brésilien (en portugais Instituto Histórico e Geográfico Brasileiro, IHGB) est la plus ancienne et traditionnelle entité d'appui à la recherche et de préservation de l'histoire et de la géographie, de la culture et de la science sociale du Brésil. Max Fleiuss (1868-1943) fut historien, mémorialiste et secrétaire perpétuel de l'IHGB.
