Krausz (1760-1825). 1836 wurde er Lehrer für Zeichnen an der Militärakademie Breda. Als Tier- und Landschaftsmaler nahm er vor allem Anregungen von P.G. van Os (1776-1839) auf.‎

A long and detailed review of the map appeared in the Geographical Journal in 1943 no. 1 in which it is noted that "Two important new coasts are shown upon the chart" and also that "it shows a large island off the coast of Graham Land . to which the name Wilkins has been assigned; it has never been shown before."
