Various Photographers 1930. A group of 32 photographs 30 b&w and 2 color ranging in size from 4" x 6" to 7" x 9 1/2" 10 circa 1930's the rest 1957-1997 8 SIGNED signees to be determined. Credited photographers are: Ginger Gamage Forbes Jay Dee Ft. Worth TX V. Sladon NYC and John Lindquist. Some of the photos have writing verso identifying the subjects including one of Svetlova with Claudio Arrau and Mantovani. Several appear to be other noted people in the world of dance. And the 1930's photos several of which are signed appear to be friends of Svetlovas. Marina Svetlova 1923-2009 had a carrer in ballet that began as a child in 1931 and carried into the 1960's. She was a soloist with the Original Ballet Russe and a ballerina with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet. In 1969 she became a Professor of Ballet and chairwoman of the ballet department at Indiana University in Bloomington until 1992 gaining a reputation as a major educator in dance.
