No dust jacket as issued. Centre stapled. Covers are orange thick paper with an ostrich grain to it lettering black spine is covered with a 1 inch strip of dark brown cloth. Covers and spine are flat bright no rips one slightly bent corner one slightly creased corner a few minor shallow creases on front cover two tiny 1/8 and 1/16 inch triangular dents in front cover but did not break the paper small piece 1/2 inch x 1/8 inch of cloth spine binding is bent at lower front spine miniscule edge wear mostly in one place each on top and bottom spine edge light soiling of front cover and a bit more soiling on back cover with some small dark brown dots but both covers are still a vibrant orange and the soiling is hardly remarkable and is to be expected in a 1931 book. Page edges slightly sunned and side edges have light finger soil but no stains. Inner end papers are white on the inside of the orange front cover there was a name in fountain pen and it has been erased very well being all but invisible and did not damage the cover at all. Inside of book is tight clean bright flat there are twenty four 1/2 inch long pencil lines in margins from A to the CRO words and none after that. The Introduction page has a 1/16 x 3/16 chip in the side edge but the paper is there and can be folded back in place. Very gently read. No photos no illustrations. The back last four pages before the back end paper are period ads for aviation books. Aviation Press, San Francisco paperback
