In October 1970 to an aeroplane a Fairchild F-227 crashed into the Andes Mountains in Chile. On board was an amateur rugby team from Uruguay. For 10 weeks there was no contact and all were presumed dead. Then one of the survivors made contact with a Chilean farmer and a rescue mission was sent out for them. There were 16 survivors; and for 10 weeks they had survived harsh conditions not the least being limited food needing to survive the survivors broke one of humanity's most entrenched taboos � cannibalism. This is their story. This is their story of survival loss of friends and of necessity.
