En analysant le soulèvement des populations chinoises qui a éclaté dans le Chantong en 1214, mené par les Casaques rouges, pour finalement tourner court vers 1222 avec l’arrivée des Mongols conduits par Gengis-khan, l’auteur livre une comparaison avec des soulèvements européens et éclaire sous un nouvel angle l’histoire des soulèvements populaires ainsi que le concept de société rebelle, cette « société juridique sui generis dont le système reflète la structure politique et le mode de pensée de la société globale ». Très rare.
