Dünya tip tarihinin en önemli eserlerinin basinda gelen Ibn Sînâ'nin el-Kânûn fî't-Tib adli eseri, tarih içerisinde pek çok serh ve tercüme çalismasina konu olmustur. Bu çalismalarin zirvelerinden birisi de Osmanli dönemi saray hekimi Tokadî Mustafa Efendi'nin (ö. 1782) Tahbîzu'l-Mathûn isimli tercümesidir. Tokadî bu çalismasinda, Sark tibbinin en hacimli vokabülerini içeren Kânûn'un söz varligini ve bilhassa tip terimlerini, gerek Kânûn serhleri gerek ana tip referanslari gerekse lügatlerle izâha çalismis, 16. yy.'da basilmis Roma matbu nüshasi da dahil olmak üzere Arapça Kânûn nüshalarini karsilastirarak en sahih ibareyi bulmak için yogun bir tahkik icra etmistir. Ayrica Sîrâzî, Ibn Cümeyyi, Mesîhî, Sâmirî, Karsî gibi Kânûn sârihlerinin metinlerini ve bu metinlerdeki tashih ve deserlendirmeleri daima göz önünde bulundurmustur. Bu gibi özeliklerinden dolayi bu çalisma sade tercüme olmaktan çok, serh vasfini da tasiyan bir eserdir. Abbiamo finalmente raggiunto il traguardo del decimo volume, nella collana dedicata a Hierapolis di Frigia! Dopo il poderoso lavoro di Tullia Ritti, riguardante la storia e le istituzioni della città, è per me una gioia presentare il volume di Tommaso Ismaelli, che costituisce una ricerca a tutto campo, frutto di anni di intenso lavoro, su uno degli edifici più complessi, il Tempio A, posto all'interno del Santuario di Apollo, nel cuore dell'insediamento antico. All'architettura di Hierapolis, Tommaso Ismaelli aveva dedicato il suo lavoro sull'ordine dorico, pubblicato nel volume III di questa collana (2009), come risultato della ricerca sviluppata nell'ambito del Dottorato presso l'Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, a Milano. Nel corso di quella esperienza, fondamentale fu il rapporto con Maria Pia Rossignani, che era impegnata a Hierapolis, con la sua équipe, nello studio sistematico della grande Stoà-basilica nell'Agorà Nord; la sua presenza nei cantieri della città frigia aveva permesso a tanti giovani, archeologi ed architetti, di apprendere il metodo di studio dell'architettura antica, potendo essi contare sempre sulla sua generosità nel condividere saperi ed esperienze.
