Love to you and Bertha. Dali. December 10. -1941." William Schrafft was the president of the Boston-based Wm. F. Schrafft & Sons candy company and the owner's of Schrafft's a very well-known chain of restaurants mostly in New York and Boston. The son of Wilhelm Schrafft a confectioner who fled to America as a result the German Revolution and started a candy company; William continued the expansion into restaurants while preserving the core business and creating a substantial charitable trust.
