The current work focuses on the accomplishments of the Second Five Year Plan and features one of the best of Arthur Hawkins' dustjacket designs. The endpapers and frontispiece printed in two colors reproduce Soviet revolutionary graphics. A highlight of twentieth-century book design not rare but seldom encountered in such nice condition. What a difference sixty years can make. It looked to the author writing in 1933 that the Russian Revolution so strongly entrenched was fixed and unstoppable at least inside the Soviet Union. He realized that a world revolution which is what the Soviets had in mind had failed but predicted that should war break out anything was possible even the extermination of all communists and all capitalists.
