Our French author evidently saw Yankee troops in Paree following the first world war and found that they enjoyed the relative sexual freedom of France. And were a bit obtuse. But were OK. Dated from the in-plate "30" below cover-artist's signature; G E C's deco drawings are supercilious funny sexy and one of them suggests that Yankee Sam although represented in that plate only as a wax candle spurting flame is a top-notch lover.
