Shows Northeast Anatolia; southwest entrance of the Dardanelles, Çanakkale, Balikesir cities, Ayvalik, Tenedos Island, shores of North Aegean, Bay of Edremit. Mapmaker is not described. Scale: 1/200.000. Mubde-i tul: Greenwich and Dersaadet. This is one the serie of the Bonn projection maps which are the first map series in modern techniques in Turkey and the Ottoman Empire. Field works continued without stopping except in years 1914 and 1920. This map series called also reconnaissance maps contributed a lot to producing 1:25.000 scale maps. Shows Krasnodar, Maikop, Yeysk, Anapa and shores of Black Sea. At northeast, map shows Kuban river (Kuban nehri) and its basin in Circassia (Republic of Adygea). Maykop is the capital city of the Republic of Adygea in Russia, located on the right bank of the Belaya River (a tributary of the Kuban River). Yekaterinodar (Krasnodar) at north of map, near to Maykop. From northwest to south east, map shows Black Sea shores of the extensive area with interesting details in Ottoman Turkish script. Also shown Belaya, Chokhrak and Dakh Rivers in addition all south land of Krasnodar Krai of the Northwestern Caucasus until southern Georgian borders and Georgia. Almost all toponyms are in Ottoman Turkish.‎

Among the significant catalogues Heyden at al. (1906), Sahlberg (1912-1913), Winkler (1924-1932) and Schenkling (1925-1927) may be counted. ‎ANITA TIEDCKE [EMINE EREL], ((Head violinist of Ege Symphony Orchestra); MUHIDDIN [MUHITTIN] EREL, (1899-1986); SUNA & SEVIM ERELS, (Daughters of family, violinists).‎

‎[Collection of autograph letters, concert programs and other material of a German / Turkish violinist and her family].‎

‎Very Good German Original autograph letters signed, concert programs and one ticket of Bruno Walter and Jose Iturbi in 23 September 1932 by Anita Tiedcke, letters by and to Anita Tiedcke, Muhiddin Erel and Suna and Sevim Erels. Includes 54 concert programs, booklets and leaflets which some of them are handwritten, typewritten and mostly original prints. Some programs contains Anita Tiedcke's violin parts, early ones in Berlin (1930s), and later period ones in Istanbul. Especially typescript Istanbul programs (such as Aysegül Sarica's ones) are extremely rare and very important collection on Turkish history of classical music. One special designed hand written and drawn concert program titled "In Mozart Reich - Weihnachts Konzert gespielt von Nannerl u. Wolfgang Mozart. 24 autograph letters from and to all family members. Letters belong to Anita Tiedcke, are especially important for which include legal correspondences about Anita Tiedcke's conversion to Islam with her musician identity and musical history. Anita Tiedcke changed her name as 'Emine Erel' after conversion to Islam and marriage. Suna and Sevim Erels' letters also talk about music mostly. They are written in German usually, but some of them are in Turkish. Also the collection contains some book lists, catalogues. Anita Tiedcke completed her musical education at the Conservatory of Hamburg with the violonist Erika Besserer. After her marriage to Muhiddin Erel, she continued her musical studies in Istanbul and worked as an instructor at the Municipal Conservatory. In 1945, she was appointed as the mayor of the Istanbul Municipal Symphony Orchestra. The couple had two daughters, Suna and Sevin. Suna Erel was not content with the conservatory, but she also graduated from the Münch Hochschule für Musik Academy. Professor Suna Erel, who worked at Mimar Sinan University for many years, retired 8 years ago. For his achievements, the German government awarded Suna Erel the Beethoven medal. Muhiddin Erel was a Turkish professor and doctor. He was the founder of Ege University Medicine Faculty in 1955. Extremely rare and fine collection.‎

This work begins from the first ages, continues with maps from Islamic geographers, maps with religious motifs, maps from the age of explorations and from the Ottoman Empire, goes until the Arabic letter maps from the early years of the Turkish Republic and ends with the map of Hatay joining the Turkish Republic in 1939. It is an indispensible work that traces the evolution of cartography in these lands. The collection, enriched with maps compiled from the major museums and libraries of England, France, the Netherlands, Russia and the USA, is the largest exhibition of maps of the Turkish lands. THis book is a product of nearly 20 years of work with 265 select maps in large 50 x 70 cm pages. A very heavy volume.‎

It's just for sale for its map and Franklin's 'Troy'. Franklin was captain in the East India Company's service. His article of 'Bemerkungen über die Ebene von Troja" [Remarks and observations on the plain of Troy] reflects the romantic spirit of Europe in its period, especially on Hellenism. This volume (seventh) of the serie (Allgemeine Geographische Ephemeriden) is rare and map which it includes rare as well. Could not be found any copy of this volume in OCLC.‎

‎Very Good Turkish, Ottoman (1500-1928) Original folded b/w military map. Atlas folio. (70 x 57 cm). In Ottoman script. Shows a very vast area on north: from Adriatic Sea to Black Sea and Sevastopol; on south: from Benghazi (Tripoli) to Cyprus, Mediterranean Sea and Port Said; and it shows armies on Shkodra, Metroviche, Ipek, Ilebsan, Yanya (Ioannina), Manastir (Bitola), Selânik (Thessaloniki - Salonica), Dirama, Siroz, Istranca, Usküp (Skopje), Gümülcine (Komotini), Kircaali, Edirne (Adrianople), Dimetoka, Uzun Köprü, Kirk Klise, Çorlu, Tekfur Dagi, Istanbul (Constantinople), Gelibolu (Gallipoli) and Izmir (Smyrna). Lieutenant Colonel Mehmet Nihat Bey of Bursa who was born in 1886 accomplished to write 39 books about military history which are including his war experience and his translation works. Nihat Bey who is the first and the most important military historian in the Republic of Turkey, was an intellectual person rather than a soldier. He meticulously evaluated many mistakes and points should be learn about war by an objective eye in his works. Although it past a century from the time this books had been written this great person couldn't have been totally discovered by researchers yet. The first military historian in Republic of Turkey Mehmet Nihat Bey, participated in Tripoli, Balkan, Gallipoli and Turkish War of Independence. He taught in military academy for many years and he impressed many staff officers in terms of idea. During the first years of republic era in Turkey he lectured about military history and until the last year before he died he had given so useful informations in warfare of Çanakkale for visitors. Nihat Bey evaluated the conditions about the period of his life and the wars he participated by an objective view and he left great materials for next generations succeeding him. He enlightened Turkish recent history by writing the events which he had witnessed. Studies of Nihat Bey has an important impact for the researchers who want to have knowledge about Balkan and Gallipoli wars which fulfilled their 100th anniversary.‎
