Raleigh: Printed and Sold by Lawrence & Lemay 1833. First Edition First Printing . Soft cover. Fair. 16mo. 38 pages. May lack one leaf at the rear although Worldcat notes the 1828 and the 1831 issues at 36 pages. We also have an 1836 edition with 40 pages The binding measures 6 1/4 inches tall by 4 inches wide. Bound in printed self-wrappers. Heavy wear. The front cover which serves as the title page had detached and been sewn back on long ago and the sewing is partly gone. Front cover shows some edge chipping but without loss of text. Pagination is erratic but appears complete from the beginning to page 38 although there may have been one more leaf following. We have an 1836 issue which has 40 pages and contains a leaf of a "List of Members of the General Assembly" lacking in this issue. The front part has the monthly astrological readings beginning on the second interior leaf and each leaf is numbered. The 8th interior leaf has an 8 at the bottom and "17" at the top and the rest of the pages continue the numbering to 38 which contains the information on the North Carolina Superior Courts. No rear blank wrapper. In general the almanac is worn and toned and has some brief edge tears. The final leaf has a couple of small holes with some loss of lettering in the text. Thornton 7536 lists the series including this year but it does not offer bibliographical information. Housed in a removable plastic sleeve with a board backing.
