Plate imprint "So do I - 3."<br /> <br /> Baum and composer Louis F. Gottschalk wrote three stage shows together but The Tik-Tok Man of Oz was the only one to be produced. The production premiered in Los Angeles at the Majestic Theater on March 31 1913. It was directed by Frank Stammers and produced by Oliver Morosco. The show was quite successful on the west coast but was met with mixed to negative reviews after premiering in Chicago. The show continued to tour the mid-west west coast and parts of Canada eventually closing in January of 1914 never having made it to the east coast. The most recent revival was a production put on in 2014 for one night only at Winkie Con 50 in San Diego.<br /> <br /> OCLC locates only a single holding though we know there to be three other copies in library collections. An die Pianistin Margarethe Demelius (Tochter der Juristenwitwe Margarethe Demelius, 1830-1923, der Tochter von Goethes Leibarzt Karl Vogel) in Wien VIII, Kochgasse 8: "So leid that es mir, Ihren lieben Besuch versäumt zu haben. Vielmals danke ich Ihnen für die eingesendeten Adressen mit der schönen Ansprache u. allen Erläut[erun]gen; Sie haben sich in der Sache eine riesige Mühe gegeben u. mit soviel Liebe u. Aufopferung daran gearbeitet, daß wir alle Ihnen nur innigst Dank sagen können [...]". - Marie Baumayer erhielt ihre Ausbildung zur Pianistin bei Carl Evers in Graz, bei Julius Epstein am Wiener Konservatorium und bei Clara Schumann. Durch diese kam sie auch in engen Kontakt zu Johannes Brahms, "dessen Klavierkonzert in B-Dur sie in Graz erstmals öffentlich spielte und zu dessen musikalischen Wegbereitern in Österreich sie zählte. Sie trat auch als Kammermusikerin auf und unterrichtete am Neuen Konservatorium in Wien" (DBE). - Die aus Krakau stammende Künstlerin "veranstaltet als Pianistin eigene Concerte und Kammermusikabende, wirkt auch bei auswärtigen Concerten mit, ertheilt Clavierunterricht und ertheilt Curse für Kammermusikstudium" (Kosel, Deutsch-österreichisches Künstler- und Schriftsteller-Lexikon, zit. n. DBA I 228, 321).

Zu einem Vorrath komme ich niemals; Sie bräuchten also nur zu bestimmen, in welcher Weise, ob leicht, ob sentimentaler Natur oder heiter ich die Sachen machen soll. - Meine Bedingungen sind pro Stück 25 Thaler. Falls Sie jedoch gesonnen wären, eine größere Anzahl auf einmal zu bestellen, so wäre ich nicht abgeneigt einen etwas billigeren Preis zu stellen […]".

Vorlesungsankündigung "für das bevorstehende Winter-Semester", in dem er über Harmonielehre lesen und Orgelspiel unterrichten wolle. - "Nach seiner Promotion zum Doctor der Philosophie begleitete er den Orientalisten Bernstein auf einer längeren Reise nach Italien und wurde nach seiner Rückkehr 1843 Lehrer der Tonkunst am akademischen Institut für Kirchenmusik zu Breslau, welches Amt er auch nach seiner Anstellung als Lehrer an dem erwähnten Gymnasium (1853) bis kurz vor seinem Tode beibehielt. Gleich tüchtig als Philolog und Musikgelehrter, hat er namentlich für das Verständniß Händel's und Bach's in Wort und Schrift gewirkt, als Lehrer des Generalbasses und Orgelspieles zahlreiche und tüchtige Schüler gebildet und als Componist durch eine Anzahl theils zarter, theils humoristischer Männergesänge sich hervorgethan" (ADB II, 157f.). - Mit einem kleinen Stecknadeldurchstich am linken Rand.
