Per molto tempo Giacomo Puccini è stato considerato come un artista di secondo livello nello scenario musicale del secolo scorso; ora le cose sono cambiate e lo stesso viene indicato come un compositore importante nel panorama musicale della fine del secolo XIX e gli inizi di quello successivo; anzi, possiamo dire che egli abbia contribuito alla rivoluzione musicale di quel periodo. Un riconoscimento notevole, quindi, acquisito sia sul piano internazionale, dove Puccini è rimasto sempre sulla cresta dell'onda, sia in ambito nazionale, dove spesso è stato sottovalutato per la mancanza di una seria indagine critica riguardante la sua produzione artistica. Questo saggio ricostruisce alcuni aspetti della vita personale di Giacomo Puccini portando il lettore nei luoghi cari al maestro tra aneddoti e curiosità spesso sconosciute.
