L'uomo che non volle farsi robot e altri saggi sul canto
br. Da secoli ormai in tutto il mondo si riconosce la superiorità della concezione estetica e tecnico-vocale elaborata dalla scuola di canto italiana storica. Questa superiorità riguarda sia la funzionalità vocale (che obbedisce al principio ergonomico di massima resa e minimo sforzo) sia la capacità espressiva delle voci educate col metodo italiano. Purtroppo esso è venuto progressivamente alterandosi per l'influenza di una concezione vocale antitetica, introdotta dalla foniatria, che si ispira al riduzionismo meccanicistico della scienza ottocentesca. Il meccanicismo foniatrico si spaccia per scientifico, ma in realtà viola il postulato primo di ogni scienza: partire dalla realtà com'è e non come si immagina che sia in base ai propri pregiudizi ideologici. Ripristinare i principi da cui è scaturita la grande scuola di canto italiana è l'obiettivo di questo libro e presuppone un lavoro che è insieme di natura tecnico-vocale, di natura estetica e di natura gnoseologica. Questo in ossequio all''equazione' di Schopenhauer: "I gradi di coscienza sono gradi di realtà".

br. Basato su precisi documenti storici, questo libro fa luce sulla formazione tecnico-vocale dei due grandi tenori e sui loro rapporti con la scuola del cosiddetto "affondo", spazzando via le numerose fandonie autopromozionali e le falsificazioni storiche, fatte circolare dai fautori di questa scuola. Prima rivali e poi amici, accomunati dalla stessa passione per la ricerca tecnico-vocale, Del Monaco e Corelli dovettero entrambi fare i conti con i due idola tribus della moderna didattica vocale, la "maschera" e l''affondo', due espedienti tecnici ignorati sia dal belcanto storico, sia da grandi cantanti del Novecento come Enrico Caruso e Tito Schipa. Gli alterni rapporti di amore-odio con queste due tecniche vocali furono alla base dei loro percorsi artistici e sono analizzati in questo libro in tutte le loro sfaccettature.

Oper Sopran. Nach der Ausbildung bei Stümer und Lemm studierte er Musiktheorie bei Louis Gorzizky, feierte Erfolge als Sänger, Komponist und Pianist und gründete 1845 den Jähnsschen Gesangsverein. "Seit 1849 war er Kgl. Musikdirektor, seit 1881 auch Lehrer für Rhetorik am Konservatorium von Scharwenka. Er baute die Sammlung Carl Maria von Weber auf und schrieb 'Carl Maria von Weber in seinen Werken' (1871)" (DBE).

This publication offers a critical edition of all the secular works of the Danish composer Mogens Peders?n (1585?-1623?), together with a historical-critical introduction, diplomatic and diplomatic-interpretative editions of the poetic texts and three appendixes. The following themes are examined in the introduction: the biography and personality of King Christian IV of Denmark, Peders?n's patron; the splendid musical life at the Danish court in the late 16th and early 17th centuries; and the life and works of Peders?n himself, with particular regard to his relations with the Venetian environment - and specifically with the school of Giovanni Gabrieli where he trained. A further useful tool for further research is a table of the works of composers who set the same texts as Peders?n. The introduction is followed by a double edition of the various texts set to music: first a conservative edition respecting the graphic conventions of the period, aimed at presenting the text just as it is transmitted by the early sources; then the edition adopted in the score, in which the text is normalized to conform to current orthographic usage. There follows a critical edition of the music of Peders?n's 31 five-voice madrigals and 2 three-voice madrigaletti. The appendixes contain editions of the texts and music of works by Hans Nielsen, Francesco Di Gregorii and Amante Franzoni set to the same poetic texts used by Peders?n. Languages : English.
