Un excursus in un decennio musicale intenso e fondamentale, che ospita una serie di eventi la cui influenza si può sentire ancora oggi. Dalla definitiva affermazione del rap come genere conquista-classifiche alla nascita dell'indie per come lo definiamo oggi, fino alla trasformazione dell'industria musicale passando per social e YouTube. E ancora: la nostalgia vaga per un passato ritenuto migliore, il timore post-9/11 per un futuro incerto, una crisi di valori che porta una generazione di musicisti in tutte le direzioni e in nessuna al tempo stesso. Le 100 canzoni scelte raccontano, tra le righe o anche in superficie, tutto questo e anche di più. Viaggiamo tra i generi, da artisti che ricorderete come se fosse ieri a nomi che erano andati completamente perduti nella memoria. Riscoprirete canzoni della cui importanza magari non siete mai stati al corrente, altre le risentirete dopo quindici o vent'anni con orecchie completamente diverse. E in qualche modo ritroverete anche del vostro, perché non possiamo guardare al passato senza ritrovarvi anche noi stessi.

Zwei Takte für Klavier mit unterlegtem Text "O! mein Liebster ich erfass es nicht". - Der aus Kopenhagen stammende Musiker war in Weimar mit Franz Liszt bekannt geworden und hatte 1858 dessen Nachfolge als Hofkapellmeister angetreten. "In den folgenden 37Jahren dirigierte Lassen u. a. die Uraufführung von Camille Saint-Saëns’ Oper 'Samson und Dalila'. Als Komponist gewann er vor allem mit Liedern für eine Singstimme mit Klavierbegleitung internationale Anerkennung. Seine Bühnenmusik zu Goethes 'Faust' (1876) in Weimar trug ihm lokalen Ruhm ein" (DBE).

Hoffentlich sind Sie dann noch da. […]". - Lassen studierte in Brüssel Klavier, Komposition und Dirigieren und reiste 1851 mit einem belgischen Stipendium nach Italien und Deutschland. In Weimar lernte er Franz von Liszt kennen und trat 1858 dessen Nachfolge als Hofkapellmeister an. In den folgenden 37 Jahren dirigierte Lassen u. a. die Uraufführung von Camille Saint-Saëns' Oper "Samson und Dalila".

Of the utmost rarity. - The first attempt at a collected edition, put forth by the composer's sons Ferdinand and Rudolph Lasso, containing 516 motets and with a two-page dedication to the ruling duke of Bavaria, Maximilian (dated January 1, 1604). A total of six voices were published in separate volumes with the music printed in letterpress, together forming one of the most famous works in the history of music publishing. - Two small paper flaws in the title page have been repaired without loss to text or to the fine woodcut border.
