Fiamma Nicolodi
Lemmario del lessico della letteratura musicale italiana (1490-1950)
Autori: Fiamma Nicolodi, Renato Di Benedetto, Fabio Rossi.

FIELD, Eugene, words by, and Morris Ellsworth, music by
Sheet music: A Norse Lullaby
New York: Edward Schuberth & Co 1900. Softcover. Very Good. First edition. Folio. Single bifolium with a single-sheet-insert making six pages. Edgewear including small tears foxing to the exterior and bumping to the corners still a complete and very good copy. For voice and piano. Plate imprint "C.F.T. No. 285." The front cover states "Dedicated to The Hatfield House" though it is unclear if it is referring to the historical house in Fairmount Park in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. This piece is unrecorded by OCLC and appears to be equally scarce in the trade; furthermore we could not find any solid biographical information on the composer Morris Ellsworth. There's a chance he's the original composer and subject of a song called "Morzie Ellsworth" about a Mane-ite moving to Pennsylvania to work as a lumberjack which Brian Miller of the website EverGreenTrad states "likely descended from the New Brunswick Canada song 'Morris Ellsworth.'" But this was all the info we could glean on Ellsworth and while it's a remote chance we find the concept of a lumberjack-composer mentally conjuring melodies while chopping wood deep in the forest quite Romantic. Either way it remains a rare and intriguing piece. Edward Schuberth & Co unknown
