The contract dated April 1st 1884 is with The Westchester Telephone Company for telephone service at a residence on Warburton Avenue in the City of Yonkers. The customer has agreed to pay $4.17 a month for service !. Signed by the customer and countersigned by the company's General Manager. The word "duplicate" is handwritten at the upper left corner. Light mailing folds and a small stain at the top edge Reverse side is blank. This is an extremely early telephone-related document coming only 8 years after Alexander Graham Bell's famous first transmission "Mr. Watson--come here--I want to see you." <br/><br/> unknown
