Castellani sulla tecnica della televisione aggiornata agli anni 50, riccamente illustrato da diagrammi, schemi in fogli ripiegati e foto b/n, "730 figure originali e 170 illustrazioni, 20 tavole costruttive fuori testo". Arturo Castellani fu uno dei pionieri della televisione in Italia, suo e' il primo trattato tecnico-pratico in Italiano sull'argomento. Volume grosso e pesante (2kg senza imballo) richiedente spese di spedizione aggiuntive.

Probably the most comprehensive early work on selenium cells, covering the early history, physical and electrical properties and applications like light telephony and television, with extensive bibliographical notes at the end of each chapter. George P Barnard was of the Electrical Department at the National Physical Laboratory, Teddington, England. Heavy book with extra P&P charges.

From the Introduction: “In this Final Report each of the Division 14 projects is discussed. (..) The purpose of this report is to present enough of the administrative detail, technical advances, production data and operational use so that the separate contracts and the individual projects undertaken may be seen as parts of the whole development and may be followed, though briefly, from start to finish. References are given to more detailed technical reports wherever possible.” Profusely illustrated by b/w pictures, diagrams and tables. There are most interesting pictures and data of apparatus and radar installation which had not been published elsewhere. A very scarce publication, rarely found for sale. This report reviews the massive effort on the development of Radar, LORAN navigation system and associated components undertaken at the MIT Radiation Laboratory and related Organisations and Contractors during WW2. Produced by the Division 14 (RADAR) of the National Defence Research Committee (NDRC) it covers a wide range of Radar components, subsystems and techniques such as antennas, magnetrons, klystrons, indicators, switches, waveguides, LORAN system, fire control systems etc. with technical data, cost information, current project status, delivered quantities, etc. Even with its imperfect scanning process and its defects, this ebook is a must for any WW2 Radar historian or enthusiast as it offers a wealth of information not readily available from other sources on the technical development of Radar in those critical times.

Editorial green cloth, black lettering on front board and gilt lettering on spine, minimal signs of wear mainly at head and tail, small stamp and owner signature (Henry Janne, Belgian physicist) on endpaper, very clean inside, printed on quality paper, overall in VG+ conditions, a nice copy of this scarce book. One of the earliest book on the subject, the first to give a connected and complete account, by a famous pioneer of light telephony and speech and sound reproduction, here expanded to cover electric wave telephony. With an Appendix, Errata and Bibliography at the end. The Appendix presenting the current advances in the technique was added by Erskine-Murray, well known electrical engineer and researcher in wireless communication, author of the famous Handbook of Wireless Telegraphy which went through several editions. In the Appendix is also notable the chapter Historical Notes by Prof. Fessenden. This is the original edition, not a modern reprint. An important and valuable book, rarely found in such nice conditions.

La Telegrafia Senza Filo di Righi e Dessau fu pubblicata in due edizioni, entrambe in italiano (Zanichelli) e in tedesco (Vieweg).

Two-volume set, editorial brown cloth with blind lettering on front boards and gilt lettering on spines, professionally rebacked and hinges reinforced internally, paper lightly age-yellowed with sporadic acceptable foxing, otherwise in VG conditions. Overall a nice set. Wireless Telephony and Broadcasting is a sumptuously illustrated, two volume classic from the 1920's. it contains much of interest to wireless collector. As to be expected given the author's connection with Marconi, their equipment gets a good look-in, including the Marconiphone V3, a 300 kW CW Disc discharger and Marconi Valve Wireless Telephony Transmitters. Harry Melville Dowsett was one of Marconi’s most famous engineers at that time, having assisted Guglielmo Marconi in the pioneering days as early as 1899 and esponsible for many key developments in radio and television by the Company and of the associated patents obtained. All of the books he authored are sought after by collectors, wireless technology historians and early radio enthusiasts. Heavy books attracting higher postage cost.

Opera uscita nella collana “Grandes Encyclopedier Industrielles J.-B. Bailliere” nella parte riservata alla “Encyclopedie d'Electricite Industrielle” diretta da A. Blondel. Esemplare ancora a fogli chiusi, mai letto. Prima edizione rara ed in ottime condizioni di conservazione. Unico difetto una piccolissima ed ininfluente mancanza all'angolo superiore del piatto posteriore e per il resto senza difetti. Rara opera che illustra i progressi tecnologici raggiunti dalla tecnologia telegrafica (di terra, sottomarina, aerea, senza fili). Numerosissimi schemi tecnici e immagini nel testo. Nell'opera vengono presentate anche alcune delle macchine più innovative come la Pollak-Virag l'antenato del Fax. L'opera presenta anche un'importante apparato di studi degli impulsi elettrici. Ottimo esemplare. Varie immagini e schemi tecnici nel testo. Prima rarissima edizione francese di uno dei più celebri manuali di telegrafia senza fili, scritto dal grande professore scozzese di telegrafia senza fili e telefonia James Murray Erskine, tradotto da Henri Magniez ingegnere elettrico della Compagnia Generale di Radiotelegrafia. James Erskine-Murray (1868-1927), scozzese di nascita, fu uno dei più grandi esperti del suo tempo di tecnologia wireless. Si formò per sei anni studiando sotto Lord Kelvin presso l’Università di Glasgow prima di arrivare al Trinity College di Cambridge come studente di ricerca. Finiti gli studi divenne un consulente telegrafia e pubblicò quest’opera per la prima volta nel 1907. Il lavoro ebbe enorme successo prima nei paesi anglosassoni dove nel giro di meno dieci anni ebbe 6 ristampe e poi grazie a questa traduzione francese anche nel resto d’Europa. Il suo scopo era quello di informare i tecnici, studenti e operatori radio su molti aspetti di una tecnologia in rapida evoluzione. Il libro copre i recenti sviluppi del tempo. L’opera si pone come un classico precoce nel campo della progettazione e delle onde radio e offrì agli studenti contemporanei e appassionati di radio una guida utile e specifica sulle prime tecnologie wireless. Esemplare assai raro e ancor più raro in queste ottime condizioni di conservazione. A good copy.

Prima edizione rarissima ed in ottime condizioni di conservazione.
