Seven colour plates plus line illustrations throughout I believe there should be eight colour plates; this book lacks a frontispiece. Binding is tight spine square. Paper-covered boards show mild wear to base of spine lightly bumped corners. Pages and plates very clean a single page turning tear to a plate noted tape repaired by library. Library markings include tape remnants and a small paper peel on boards tape shadows on endpapers pocket with reference library stamp on rear endpaper. Jacket is unclipped clean bright despite adhesive residue at former site of spine label; tape reinforcement to reverse of jacket; fortunately not with high-acid tape. Still a sturdy serviceable and attractive reading copy of Uttley's thirteenth "Brown Mouse" book. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/Good to Very Good.
