SOBRERO (Casale Monferrato 1812 - Torino 1888) grande chimico e medico, specialista (con Liebig) in esplosivi, realizzatore della NITROGLICERINA (1847) e scopritore (1851) del sobrerolo, determinando l'era industriale degli esplosivi, portata avanti dallo svedese Alfred NOBEL con la fabbrica di dinamite presso Avigliana (1873). Segretario perpetuo dell'Accademia delle Scienze di Torino, Censito come estratto in sole 2 bibl.

The Actaeonellidae once were a dominant fauna element in shallow, temperate and tropical seas. Together with the dinosaurs, ammonites and many other groups they became suddenly extinct at the end of the Cretaceous period. This is Geological Survey Professional Paper 1304, signed by the second author, dedicating this copy to his colleague, Prof. Zapfe. The latter's small private library stamp and the name of the authors written on the front wrapper, otherwise a very good clean copy.
