Il se lance alors, fort de cette expérience, dans la rééducation de toutes les formes de difficulté de prononciation, le bégaiement, bien sûr, mais aussi le bredouillement, le balbutiement, la blésité, etc. A partir de 1860, mandaté par le préfet du Rhône M. Vaïsse, il se consacre entièrement avec son fils, à traiter ces problèmes et fondera en 1867 à Paris, l’Institut des bègues. Document devenu fort rare.‎
