The biographical essays that accompany the portrait photographs photo record the family ethnic and education backgrounds of the students. Published from 1898 to 1900 this yearbook competed against the more successful Yale Shingle. Unlike its rival the Mirror appeared to be a quasi-official publication that concentrated on factual information about the school rather than colorful anecdotes about the students.
