Edizione originale rara di questo scritto di Gozzi (la relazione fu scritta dall'Autore nel dicembre 1773 ma rimase inedita fino al 1836) su una possibile riforma delle scuole di Venezia a seguito della soppressione di quelle gesuitiche. Gozzi dedico', oltre a questo, altri tre saggi al tema pedagogico: "Sulla riforma degli Studi"; "Sulle scuole che dovevano in Padova essere sostituite a quelle dei Gesuiti"; "Sopra il corso di Studi che piu' convenga alla Accademia della Zuecca in Venezia" tutti ripubblicati dal Tommaseo.
