Hoke concerned that proceedings against alleged WWII American fascists were being stymied or kept secret decided to write this book to serve as a final report which woujld attempt to tell the whole truth. "I will not violate any of the legal rules of secrecy surrounding Grand Jury proceedings. But I insist that it is permissible to give all the names of all the people who appeared before the various Grand Juries investigating WWII-era sedition and to give too the background of the witnewsses known from long and close study.
