2017Boccaccio fu traduttore di classici e lettore curioso e attento di alcune fra le più brillanti traduzioni di testi antichi o tardo-antichi. La vivace presenza dei volgarizzamenti nella testura delle sue opere induce a rivedere la valutazione della loro ricezione. I lettori erano affascinati dall'emulazione del mondo antico e dalle ambientazioni anticheggianti del racconto ma non padroneggiavano gli strumenti linguistici per attingere direttamente ai classici. Ed è per soddisfare le esigenze di questo pubblico semicolto che lo scrittore ricorre alla mediazione dei volgarizzatori. Il fatto che tenesse aperti sullo stesso tavolo - come parrebbe - testo latino e versione volgare ce lo fa intravedere dunque in cerca di uno stile "latineggiante". Le “Heroides” ovidiane di Filippo Ceffi e la “Consolatio” boeziana di Alberto della Piagentina furono determinanti per la sua ispirazione, sul piano inventivo e della ricerca di una forma moderna per testi che miravano ad ammantarsi di antico, specie per la “Comedia delle ninfe fiorentine” e l'”Elegia di madonna Fiammetta”. 1930Il saggio sull' unitarietà del Decamerine occupa 15 pagine. BONFANTINI, critico letterario, francesista ma non solo; antifascista, sfuggì al campo di sterminio buttandosi fuori dal treno che lo portava in Germania il 22 giugno 1944 e fu poi partigiano. Il fasc. in-8° (cm. 24,2), bross. edit. (fessura parziale a una cerniera), è completo delle sue 128 pagine e contiene inoltre: 1) 11 illuminanti pagine di Giorgio PASQUALI sulla necesssità dell'ozio scolastico per libere letture e teatro; "prima il greco" (insegnato come una lingua moderna ricca di lessico) "poi il latino". 2) 7 pagine di Alberto Vedrani su un incredibile caso psichiatrico a POMPOSA e su uno analogo nell'antichità, "3) Intriganti racconti in prima edizione di Bonaventura TECCHI (I grassi), Delfino CINELLI ("Fiore, la Rosa e la biscia"), di Marino MORETTI sulla musica e sull'Opera. 4) 5 pagine su Adolf Von HARNACK e sulla sua "Storia dei Dogmi".
2021Il volume si sofferma su alcuni aspetti della figura e della cultura di Boccaccio: la sua vicenda biografica, il milieu religioso angioino e fiorentino, la produzione letteraria, con particolare attenzione al Decameron. L’analisi privilegia diversi motivi e tematiche utili all’esplorazione del mondo boccacciano: la povertà, che mostra una consapevole adesione a un ideale umanistico e segna momenti e traversie della vita del letterato; la satira antifratesca, il riuso della letteratura religiosa nel Decameron; la geografia del capolavoro, con l’analisi di luoghi e spazi in grado di orientarne l’esegesi. Chiudono il volume tre letture di novelle scelte tra la Quarta e la Quinta giornata che mettono in luce la maestria di Boccaccio nel combinare e reinterpretare i materiali delle diverse tradizioni. 2017ill., br. Il volume vuole dimostrare che Boccaccio senza la Francia - una Francia in primo luogo "napoletana e "angioina"- non sarebbe Boccaccio, quello che ci è noto. I motivi che percorrono opera e poetica boccacciana sarebbero senz'altro del tutto diversi. Ma la Francia senza Boccaccio, almeno la sua letteratura, avrebbe anch'essa assunto una fisionomia differente. Ciò che viene dapprima in mente, ovviamente, riguarda il genere della novella, che avrebbe preso tutt'altro corso, la novella così come Boccaccio la "inventa" nel "Decameron" , dove ne elabora la prassi teorica.
