1971147 pages. "The comradeship of dog and man is older than anybody can say for certain; and though the scientists have struggled a considerable way out of the great mass of bizarre fantasy, many stubborn beliefs hang on - strange and surprising beliefs, often weird and creepy beliefs. To consider them may divert human readers, and may profit their dogs." - from author's Foreward. Book
1991145 pages including index. A collection of historic curiosities that are, or may be, associated with North American postage stamps. For the stories presented in this work, numerous dusty history books and reference works have been researched for those little "gems" of information that present the "other side" to generally accepted beliefs and conceptions. Very often, historic information is based on what others wish us to believe rather than the truth. It is only through the passage of time that the shroud of deception wears thin and mouths silenced in death "speak from their graves" in tattered letters and faded diaries. Adds a new dimension to topical stamp collecting by introducting "Philatelic Curiosities" - strange, unusual and bizarre facts associated with postage stamps. Illustrated in black and white. Clean and unmarked with very light wear. Excellent copy. Book
1986231 pages including bibliography and over 180 illustrations. "A complete history of what John Maynard Keynes has called "the underworld of economics." Beginning in England in 1917, it makes a bizarre, at times nearly unbelievable, story of monetary cranks, political parvenues, conspiracy theorists, end-of-the-world millennialists and political demagogues that sweeps through Alberta, British Columbia, and Quebec before culminating in the '80s in British Columbia." - from back cover. Moderate wear and soiling. Unmarked. Solid copy. Book
