1975réf. 2594Exercices avec solutions sur la théorie des sous‑ensembles flous Authors: A. Kaufmann T. Dubois M. Cools Publisher: Masson Paris 1975 Language: French ISBN‑10: 2225413053 ISBN‑13: 9782225413056 Description Exercices avec solutions sur la théorie des sous‑ensembles flous is a specialized academic text offering problem sets and solutions in the emerging field of fuzzy set theory. Written by Kaufmann Dubois and Cools the book provides a practical complement to theoretical introductions guiding readers through exercises that illustrate the mathematical foundations and applications of fuzzy subsets. Key features include: Structured exercises with solutions reinforcing comprehension of fuzzy set concepts. Coverage of foundational topics including membership functions operations on fuzzy sets and applications in logic and decision‑making. Pedagogical clarity designed for advanced students and researchers in mathematics computer science and systems theory. Historical importance reflecting the mid‑1970s expansion of fuzzy logic as a formal discipline in Europe. Scarcity as French‑language technical texts from this era are less common in the international market. Collectible Significance Published in 1975 by Masson in Paris this volume represents an early contribution to the study and teaching of fuzzy set theory. It is valuable for collectors of mathematical literature educators documenting the evolution of fuzzy logic and professionals interested in the roots of uncertainty modeling. Its limited circulation and French‑language focus make it a distinctive addition to scholarly collections. Elsevier Masson SAS paperback

1975réf. 2626Introduction à la théorie des sous‑ensembles flous – Tome 3 Author: A. Kaufmann Series: Introduction à la théorie des sous‑ensembles flous Tomes 1–4 Publisher: Masson 1975–1977 Language: French Description This is Tome 3 of A. Kaufmann's influential four‑volume series on fuzzy set theory one of the earliest comprehensive treatments of fuzzy logic and its engineering applications. Published by Masson between 1975 and 1977 the series became a cornerstone reference for researchers in control systems pattern recognition classification automata and decision theory. Volume 3 focuses on applied fuzzy‑set methods including: Classification and pattern recognition Automata and fuzzy systems Decision criteria and multi‑criteria selection Engineering‑oriented fuzzy modeling Kaufmann's work predates the widespread adoption of fuzzy logic in AI and control engineering making these early volumes historically significant for the development of soft computing. Collectible Significance The Masson editions were printed in relatively small academic runs and individual volumes — especially Tome 3 — are scarce in clean condition. Complete sets of all four volumes are highly sought after but standalone volumes remain collectible due to their early publication dates and foundational role in fuzzy‑set theory. Your copy's strong condition makes it especially desirable to collectors of early AI cybernetics and systems theory. Elsevier Masson paperback
1975réf. 2646Introduction to the Theory of Fuzzy Subsets Volume I Author: A. Kaufmann Publisher: Academic Press New York 1975 Series: Mathematics in Science and Engineering Language: English ISBN‑10: 0124023010 ISBN‑13: 9780124023017 Description A. Kaufmann's Introduction to the Theory of Fuzzy Subsets Volume I is one of the earliest comprehensive treatments of fuzzy set theory the mathematical framework introduced by Lotfi Zadeh for modeling imprecision gradual membership and uncertainty in complex systems. Kaufmann's exposition provides a rigorous foundation for: membership functions fuzzy relations linguistic variables approximate reasoning applications in control theory and decision systems This volume helped establish fuzzy mathematics as a legitimate analytical discipline and influenced early developments in artificial intelligence systems engineering and pattern recognition. Academic Press's 1970s monographs in applied mathematics were printed in modest quantities making clean surviving copies increasingly scarce. Your copy coming from the Hassan Aït‑Kaci research library sits squarely within the intellectual landscape of computational logic uncertainty modeling and early AI theory. Collectible Significance This title is desirable to collectors and researchers because: it represents an early foundational text in fuzzy set theory it predates the explosion of fuzzy logic applications in the 1980s–1990s Academic Press first editions from this period are scarce in strong condition the subject intersects with AI history systems theory and decision sciences The Aït‑Kaci provenance adds meaningful value. His work in logic programming constraint systems and computational semantics places this book directly within his research orbit making it especially appealing to institutions and collectors of computing history.
