Ilustrada con un frontis y 10 bellas láminas grabadas al cobre es un libro de tipo histórico escrito contra la actuación de los españoles en Perú en particular y el colonialismo en general; su acercamiento a la naturaleza y a favor de los indígenas americanos ejerció como influencia en otros autores contemporáneos y contribuyó de manera decisiva a consolidar la leyenda negra contra España. La obra tuvo una gran divulgación llegándose a imprimir más de treinta ediciones diferentes y la adaptación de varias obras de teatro. Libro muy bello bien impreso y estimado. Edges speckled red. = A rare part of the Ultimate Encyclopaedia and the largest of all great Encyclopaedias and the most important work published during the French Enlightement. This section - complete in itself - written by the French writer and grammarian Nicolás Beauzée Dumarsais 1717-1789 and the historian and playwright Jean-François Marmontel 1723-1799. They dedicated this work to François Michel Claude Benoît Le Camus de Néville1750-1813 who was director of the Librairie from 1776 to 1784 "he protected the publisher Charles-Joseph Panckoucke and promoted the publication of the Encyclopédie méthodique" French Wikipedia. Published in six parts together forming three volumes each with its own title. Some light wear to the boards; otherwise a very good clean and complete set. Gold gilt stands out on front warn down on spine tight square. "Edition strictly limited to 500 copies." Very Good. Both volumes have heavily browned ffp's front and back. Bit of yellowing on all pages. Last ffp on Volume 1 and first ffp on volume 2 have fold tear. All internal pages are tight square and devoid of marks and chips. Some of the rough cut quarter pages have never been separated hence entirely unread. Price is for 2 volumes. Additional postage may be required. H. S. Nichols hardcover
