Very good copy in fine binding. Bibl. Rif.: Morazzoni 229, Lapiccirella "Illustrati Veneziani" n.163. 515/13.

Encyclopedia Britannica "François de Salignac de La Mothe-Fénelon: French archbishop and writer". Fenelon is perhaps most famous for his treatise on the education of girls published at the end of the seventeenth century. His Dialogues on Eloquence was composed around this same time and was published after his death. Fenelon's pedagogical writings were hugely influential in his day and remained so for decades afterward. This work in particular focuses on public speaking in a church or other religious setting. "Charles Heels worked for the railways from 1912 until his retirement in 1960. Over the years he collected and recorded the history of his vocation. From early in the twentieth century he collected and took photographs related to his special field. The result is that the only copy of many of the photographs of the early days of railroading in Canada have been preserved in his collection. This book illustrates over 100 of these photos and records the history of many of the events which make up the history of railroading in Canada. Heels worked out of Lindsay, Ontario where he was responsible for freight cars in the district between Toronto, Belleville, Peterborough and points north and east. He thus needed to know all of the workings of the railway in central Ontario for almost half a century" - dust jacket. Writing blacked out in lower left corner of title page, otherwise book clean, bright and unmarked with very light wear. Binding tight. Moderate wear to dust jacket which is now preserved in archival-grade Brodart. A quality copy of this important Ontario railroad history. Book
