réf. 9a618Christian Ernst Gabler Jena und Leipzig/Cottasche Buchhandlung Tübingen 1799. 118 S. original englische Broschur alter Name auf Umschlag/durchgehend wasserrandig/etwas fleckig. - Erster Druck der ersten Ausgabe/In einem anonymen Pamphlet " eines Vaters an seinen studierenden Sohn" war gegen zwei Artikel von Fichte und Forberg im Januarheft 1798 des "Philosophischen Journals" der Vorwurd des Atheismus erhoben und damit einer "der infamsten Schurkenstreiche innerhalb der gelehrten Welt inszeniert" Houben worden. Das Journal wurde confisziert Fichte verlor seine Professur und Jenas Stellung als Mittelpunkt der europäischen Philosopjie der Zeit war dahin. Fichte gab sich jedoch nicht geschlagen sondern rechtfertigte sich in der von einem "stürmischen Temperament durchfluteten" Houben "Appellation" in der er mit großer Entschiedenheit die gefährliche Beschuldigung des Atheismus zurückwies - aber damit den sog. "Atheismusstreit" erst so recht entfachte / Meyer 48 - unknown
