2023ref. BIBHB0024881022023. Hardcover. New. About the book: Socrates' quote demonstrates his humility and acknowledgment of his limited knowledge. In Plato's ""Republic"" Socrates delves into the concept of justice and envisions an ideal state that shares women children and property communally. Through dialogues they contemplate an ideal community governed by reason where the tangible world imperfectly mirrors the realm of Forms. Plato also examines the conflict between poetry and philosophy leaving a lasting impact on the culture and philosophy of history. About the Author: Plato the ancient Greek philosopher born in Athens around 428/427 or 424/423 BC established the Academy a school where he taught the principles of Platonism. Renowned for his pioneering use of written dialogue and dialectic methods in philosophy he made significant contributions such as the Theory of Forms and the notion of Platonic love. Throughout more than two millennia Plato's works have had a profound impact on world culture and philosophy leaving a lasting legacy.
