2016"Simone Weil sentì la vocazione di collocarsi sulla soglia della Chiesa, nel punto di intersezione fra credenti e non credenti e fra cristianesimo e altre religioni, per cui il suo messaggio risulta, rispetto alla Chiesa, per molti versi provocatorio e urtante ma anche ricco di spunti di una propositività vivificatrice. L'assoluta centralità accordata alla figura della Croce è quanto mai opportuna, dal momento che essa fu davvero il centro dell'esperienza spirituale, mistica e religiosa della filosofia francese, la quale sentì che, come nucleo fondamentale del cristianesimo, la Croce da sola le bastava, anche senza la gloria della resurrezione. Con grande empatia per le più profonde intuizioni weiliane e al tempo stesso con ammirevole equilibrio, don Cosimo raccoglie il senso dell'eredità di Simone Weil, anche nei suoi spunti polemici rispetto alla Chiesa in quanto istituzione, come una provocazione feconda, in grado di scuotere le coscienze e di riaprire il dialogo fra Chiesa e mondo, fra credenti e non credenti, fra il cristianesimo e le altre religioni.
