Sumptuously bound in period 3/4 blue-green crushed levant morocco over marbled boards spine with raised bands and elaborate gilt floral tooling within gilt-ruled compartments covers bordered in gilt top edge gilt. marbled endpapers. Ribbing along the bottom eges usual fading to the spine else a very nice copy in an attractive leather binding. Robida 1848-1926 'began his career as a popular illust rator in 1878. His designs. have attracted the favor of today's collectors ' Ray Art of the French Illustrated Book p. 403 for which see reference to this work. Illus. by Robida. In-8 cartonnage éditeur pleine toile grise de 142 pages au format 16 x 23,5 cm sous jaquette reprenant la couverture de l'édition originale. Dos avec titre gravé. Pages de garde ornées de motifs floraux. Réédition, en (presque) fac-similé, dont la reproduction est à 91% du format d’origine de l’album de 1909. Mis à part le format le reste de l'ouvrage est en tous points semblable au 1er tirage, bien complet de la trentaine de gravures de Robida, qui ont été restaurées. Un des exemplaires 10 hors commerce, tirés pour le plaisir des éditeurs, noté H.C. Tirage total à 99 exemplaires + quelques hors commerce. Etat superbe, proche du neuf. Totalement épuisé.

Plats du cartonnage assez frais avec petite tache aux quatrième plat. Très nombreuses illustrations en noir et blanc, hors texte et in-texte par Albert Robida. Quelques partitions accompagnées de chants sont in-texte. Edition originale en état général correct. peu courant.

Coins un peu tassés et frottés. Petites rousseurs éparses. Intérieur assez frais. Cachet en page de garde. Rare édition originale en assez bel état général.
