Falck’s Recollections; Index. From Preface: Dear Grandchildren Your Granddaddy Vassar Benjamin Carlton has entertained me during the years of our marriage with stories of his years in politics and on the bench. These are stories you should know too because he and his family are a part of Florida history. We started making notes in 1980 about his life life and things that happened to him. Sometimes he talked into a tape recorder or wrote notes from memory. He also dictated stories to me. We didn’t do any extensive research but I am sure if you searched the court records you will find proof of the courtroom stories. His career of over 33 years on the bench as county judge circuit judge and finally as chief justice of the Florida State Supreme Court spanned the years when Florida developed from a sleepy small-town state to a bustling busy fast-growing state where everybody wants to live. This is not meant to be a history book but I have described some of your ancestors to give you a better understanding of what life was like in the old days. hardcover books
