2002ref. 005567Syracuse NY: Syracuse University 2002. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Soft cover. As New. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Syracuse: Syracuse University 2002. The Syracuse University Basketball annual/yearbook for the 2002-2003 season the season which would - unbeknownst to the publishers at the start of that season - finish grandly with a National Championship win over Kansas. That championship run through March Madness run was led by Carmelo Anthony Gerry McNamara Hakeem Warrick and Coach Boeheim. Of those four only Boeheim is in the cover composite photo. Quarto perfect-bound photo-pictorial wraps 272 pages yes 272. Fine; literally As New. Pristine. Composite cover photo reflects the "attack of the 'Cuse clones" subhead theme with a vintage Boeheim shot next to a current in 2002 one a shot of Kueth Duany next to one of his whimsically supposed clone antecedent Raf Addison and for Jeremy McNeil the same with his predecessor Conrad McRae. Packed - truly packed - with photos stats bios schedules and even individual recaps with text and box scores of every game in the preceding season 2001-2002 as well as seemingly endless historical records. An oddly scarce 'Cuse collectible for that National Championship year in pristine condition. See scan. LPR52 Syracuse University paperback

1962ref. 605910Sydney: Robert Burton 1962. Unbound. Near Fine. Original Australian daybill movie poster for Stanely Kubrick's film adaptation of Lolita. Measuring approximately 13 ½" x 30". Creased twice from being folded for mailing as issued and some bumping to the corners with some very light toning to the margins still near fine with the illustration clean and bright. Features an illustration of Sue Lyon as Dolores "Lolita" Haze peering over her now iconic heart-shaped sunglasses. The poster states "The book is banned! How did they ever make a movie of Lolita" and at the bottom "Not suitable for children." A disclaimer that unintentionally though rather ironically highlights the misguided production of the film which Nabokov himself was ultimately unhappy with and which had traumatizing real-life consequences for the underage star of the film Sue Lyon who in an awful instance of life imitating art became entangled in a "relationship" with the film's producer a then 32 year-old James Harris. The bright and bold almost pop-art style of the illustration combined with its ironic subtext and unique format makes this an exceptionally novel piece. Robert Burton unknown

She writes in an introductory note: "I mainly wanted to catch the flow of their energy not for the sake of analytical study but as a direct reading of the performance at hand. Putting aside the conventions of 35mm and documentary photography I became part of the event itself. I used continuous time exposures while hand-cranking the film through the camera."
