1845réf. 253Arthur by Eugene Sue published by Charles Gosselin Paris 1845 The novel Arthur by Eugène Sue was published in Paris in 1845 by the publisher Paulin often associated with or distributed alongside Charles Gosselin who published Sue's other major works like The Mysteries of Paris around the same time. While some bibliographic records cite Charles Gosselin for editions around 1840–1844 the specific 1845 edition is frequently documented as a four-volume set sometimes bound as two volumes published by Paulin in Paris. This edition represents a significant phase in Sue's career marking his transition from maritime adventure novels to social novels romans de mœurs. The work is subtitled Journal d'un inconnu Journal of an Unknown Man and explores themes of love cynicism and social disillusionment. These four volumes are in fair condition. The pages are in good condition but the covers are a little broken up over the spine - but the pages are firmly attached to the spine and all text is legible. Charles Gosselin hardcover
