Noted in Bleiler and containing elements of the fantastic; whilst it does not deal with new inventions predictions of future wars or technological change as in Kipling's more overtly scientific romances this tale is concerned more with social consciousness and the dream-like state and is among his most psychologically interesting and controversial work.
