One of Rudyard Kipling's best known works this delightful collection started as bedtime stories he told to his daughter Josephine. The stories appear as origin stories of various animals presenting humorous accounts of how various features came into being such as how a leopard got its spots. Wonderfully illustrated by the author throughout. Bound in the publisher's red cloth in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally lovely with minor shelf wear and the odd mark.
