Printed on high-quality handmade paper bearing a Ganesha watermark the book showcases a superb tactile quality with its top-edge gilt and uncut lower and fore-edges. Originally published in 1904 Traffics and Discoveries is a masterful collection of short fiction showcasing a remarkable thematic range and stylistic evolution. The volume gathers some of the author's most poignant and celebrated stories including the hauntingly beautiful "They" and the pioneering science-fiction tale "Wireless." Alongside these deeply atmospheric pieces the collection features robust naval adventures introducing the unforgettable Petty Officer Pyecroft as well as incisive realistic stories reflecting the complexities of the South African War.
