First published in 1890 Barrack-Room Ballads and Other Verses established Kipling's reputation as one of the leading literary voices of the British Empire. The collection includes many of his best-known poems among them "Danny Deever" "Tommy" "Fuzzy-Wuzzy" "Gunga Din" and "Mandalay." The Jefferson Press Edition de Luxe is notable for its decorative leather and marbled-board binding and remains an appealing example of nineteenth-century fine book production. Contents clean and unmarked with light even toning. Binding remains sound and square. Leather shows light rubbing to extremities with minor wear to spine ends and corners. A Very Good copy.
