1920rif.

Lightly rubbed extremities with touches of wear gently toned spine ribbon marker detached and laid in still very good. TRUTH IS ON THE MARCH AND NOTHING SHALL STOP IT" In his final novel Émile Zola 1840-1902 returned to one of his celebrated moments: the publication of his letter in defense of the Jewish army captain Alfred Dreyfus "J'accuse.!" 1898. Accused of selling French military secrets to the Germans Dreyfus would only be acquitted in 1906 with Zola's letter generating public support. Truth casts Dreyfus into a murder mystery where a Jewish schoolmaster is framed for the murder of one of his students. Zola completed the novel just before his death leaving The Four Gospels series incomplete. Presented here is a second printing finely bound. The Bodley Head unknown
